A work by Thomas Frische is on display in the MANUFACTUM STAATSPREIS exhibition at the Museum of Art and Cultural History in Dortmund from Sunday, 22 June 2025 to Sunday, 21 September 2025.
Every two years, the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia awards the prestigious State Prize for Applied Arts and Design in Crafts. The award is presented in six categories: visual and print media, clothing and textiles, furniture, objects and sculpture, jewellery, and home and outdoor living. A jury of experts makes the selection, and more than 100 of the most impressive works are presented in a large exhibition at the Museum of Art and Cultural History – in cooperation with the West German Chamber of Crafts.
The State Prize is one of the most prestigious awards of its kind in Germany. It is held under the patronage of Minister President Hendrik Wüst. The exhibition and the State Prize are sponsored by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
